SURETECH Products update
Split-Core CT Pod current sensors simplify
load measurements
- Single,
three phase and multi-channel split core CT adapters for low current
measurements
- Current FSD
of 1amp, or 5amp or 50amp in one device, and voltage inputs up to 260Vac
- Plugs directly into SURETECH SLP Load
Logger for load flows and check metering
- Deployment is quick, easy and SAFE
- Data sheet: CT-Pod split core [280kBytes (with pictures)]
- Ideal
for consultants who would like to offer your local Eskom or Muni etc, Load
Logging / check metering analysis service without needing to buy all the
logging equipment, and we’ll even do the post processing for you
- SLPs
measure V, I, Ph, Quadrant, kW, kVA, kVAR are extending their reach
logging loads in sub-stations in SA
- We
make it very easy by processing the results into graphs for you on a 24
hour email turn-around (quicker if you need it)
- Data sheet: SLP for load logging / check metering
[940kBytes]
Rogowski Current sensors in split core
flexible format, output 4-20mA and +/-5V instantaneous
- General
purpose flexible Rogowski Current Sensor (SURETECH RCS), clips around any
shape conductor
- RCS have loop
lengths of 260mm, 500mm and 1m, all have 2m tail to instrument
- Currents from
Amps to tens of thousands of Amps
- RCS sensors
are suitable for temporary or permanent current measurements
- Data sheet: Rogowski Split Flex [483kBytes
(with pictures)]
- SLP
Current processors available for 4-20mA logging, OR multi-channel harmonic
sampling into a PC
- Multi
Channel processors have 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 channels standard
- Now
you can log 16 house loads from an LV kiosk, with the logger in the kiosk
- Or
you could simultaneously monitor all currents in a set of bus-tubes in a
submerged arc furnace, over time
- Upper
and lower thresholds are also settable for alarms, RS232 interface, with
built-in logger (1Mbyte)
- Data sheet: Rogowski Split Flex [483kBytes (with
pictures)]
- Earth
Loss Monitor exported to Malaysia, is reported to be operating very well
- ELM has been
targeted by Malaysian Telcos and power utilities to enable them to
pin-point cable theft
- Does anyone
in SA have a cable theft problem?
- ELM measures
resistance of cable armouring, compares this with a pre-set threshold, and
raises an alarm when exceeded
- Data
sheet: Earth Loss Monitor [257kBytes]
- We
are preparing further delivery of Out Door Live Line voltage sensors
[ODLLS] to Australia
- ODLLS
measures voltage on power lines without making physical contact
- Voltage
and QOS parameters on a power line can be measured
- Alarms
can be connected to NO/NC relay contact output
- Useful
features are: automatic self-test, RS232 logging, calibrated
on site
- http://www.suretech.co.za/2_ODLLS3.pdf
- The
CLF measures voltage on cable ends SAFELY, on cables and equipment;
including switchgear cable ends, mini-substations, ring main units etc…
- The
CLF answers queries that SHOULD be going through the operator’s mind
before and after operating an MV breaker
- Ultra
SAFE, low cost, accurate measurements for a SAFETY CRITICAL APPLICATION

HV Personal Alert is vital
for SAFETY and other “Guardian Angel” applications
- Eskom
field trials are essentially completed, with Eskom requirements for HV/PA
specified
- THE
HV/PA is suitable and should be recommended for ALL people working near
power lines at any MV / HV voltage
- The
HV/PA is worn on the wrist; HV/PAs can also be deployed on Aluminium
ladders, and as a “Guardian Angel”
- In
the recent power failures in the Cape, we used an HV/PA as a detector
strapped to the meter, to alarm us that Eskom power was restored, to
enable us to switch back from standby generator supply
- The
HV/PA has NO ON/OFF switch, it AUTOMATICALLY detects the presence of an
electric field, and turns itself ON and beeps and flashes at a rate
linearly proportional to the electric field strength
- Every
person now has the means to dramatically improve your own SAFETY
- Data sheet: HV Personal Alert [472kBytes]
- Do you
need PC software to interface your instruments?
- Do
you want harmonic analysis done real time on your PC?
- Data sheet: Harmonic analysis [356kBytes]
- For our railway and DC
customers, we are extending our marketing reach through using a local
company who are well poised with better marketing muscle
- We should be able to announce
more details in the near future, so railway and DC people, talk to us!
- We
can LOCALLY DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE the electrical sensors to your
requirements (Quality, technical, cost, schedule)
- Hall
effect current sensing technology, shunts etc
- Data sheet: HV DC Voltmeters [760kBytes]

- ELECTRICAL
SAFETY TRAINING at your premises?
- Our
tried and tested course is continuously well received by industry and
electrical people
- We
have just done a refresher course for a mine in the northern Cape
- Data sheet: Electrical Safety Training [33kBytes]
- Do
you need to do electrical measurements?
- Electrical
generators need testing?
- Ask us for
our website address we have developed to display real time, field captured
data from an Eskom sub-station
- Does
your plant WORK for you?
- Would
you like to design a better way of controlling your plant?
- Do
you want to analyse an electrical system under particular operating
conditions?
- Does
your plant have frequent faults?
- Fault
analysis through system simulation can enable you to find out how a
particular failure occurred

March 2006 Teaser
QUESTION:
Is a transmission line more stable if it is running
on NO load, light load, or a substantial load. Now I know this is not a very
technical way to frame this discussion, but it could throw some light on the
WCape / Gauteng power line problem that we have been experiencing recently!!!
See our website for answers and previous teasers
